Although these are some of the most beautiful pieces we have ever seen. These pieces are not just beautiful. They are offerings. Each one holds a moment of stillness, a trace of laughter, the scent of dye baths and sun-drenched afternoons.
Dyed by hand, each indigo piece holds a child’s wonder and the quiet rhythm of something made slowly, together.
These one-of-a-kind towels were nurtured by the loving hands of rising 8th grade Waldorf students, as Reggae music permeated the air on a summer afternoon in their teacher Ms. Cori's backyard. Their soulful handwork teacher, Ms. Ririko, prepared the natural indigo dye bath and taught all of us these beautiful Shibori techniques. All proceeds will be donated back to the students toward their epic 8th grade journey that will take them on a week-long rafting adventure down the San Juan River, sleeping under the stars as they explore the natural and human history of the Southwest and into the heart of a service-learning project led by elders of the Navajo Nation.
